How the Final Boss & Ending of the Resident Evil 4 Remake Wraps Up the Epic Adventure

The remake of Resident Evil 4 has brought the beloved classic back to public attention, offering old and new fans the opportunity to experience the horror-filled adventures of the game's protagonist, Leon Kennedy. Filled with anguish, intense fights, nail-biting moments, and a dramatic plot, it rises to a remarkable climax with a formidable final boss fight and an ending that ties up the series countless plot points.

Leon and his mission to rescue US President's daughter Ashley Graham reach a climax at an on-site lab facility where the Las Plagas parasite was developed. The climactic fight for survival ensues against the game's main antagonist Lord Saddler. What awaits Leon in this boss fight is an unexpected, monstrous turn of events that brings the fight to an end.

The
final boss in the Resident Evil 4 remake is a giant insect-like monster, morphed from Lord Saddler. The boss is guarded by hard-shelled and pointed legs and boasts an arsenal of attacks, from swinging its appendages and spitting black bile to summoning bug-like creatures. To defeat the monster, players must shoot its giant eyes and expose the smaller, weak point within its mouth, before launching a rocket launcher to end the fight.

The epic boss fight marks the end of the game, and the beginning of a new one where the paths of our main characters - Leon, Ashley, and Ada - divert in various directions. Ada retrieves a sample of the Las Plagas parasite while Leon and Ashley escape the island on a jet ski into the sunset. Both Ada and Leon face a moral dilemma and make differing choices. Ada leaves with the sample, while Leon decides to keep his self-induced oath to Ashley, who, after the events of the game, is much more independent and can likely take care of herself.

The Resident Evil 4 remake's ending is also slightly different from the original, as it differs in some of its details. Nevertheless, it still offers the same satisfaction of watching the heroic characters blaze a path through horror and live to tell the tale. Fans now eagerly await a remake of the Separate Ways chapter which seems to be in the works, as it may possibly offer insight about the future of our three protagonists. Whether this is a climb to glory, or a deadly descent, only time will tell.
